Scarface = Grand Theft Auto

I watched the film Scarface for the first time this weekend. Throughout the movie I kept telling Christina, “Grand Theft Auto has got to be the video game version of this movie.” The similarities were amazing. I can remember almost every song on the soundtrack from the radio in GTA 3/ Vice City. Plus, I remembered a club in Vice City that looked just like
the “Babylon” that the characters in Scarface frequent. Wondering if anyone else had noticed, I did a google search and came up with this link, an awesome 1:1 comparison of all the similarities.

Overall, I’d give Scarface 3/5 stars. It definitely has an interesting “flavor” that I had never seen before. For the first viewing I’d say it’s slightly above average. It might improve over subsequent viewings. It also taught me about the Mariel Boatlift, which I then wiki’d and found the movie’s representation to be quite accurate.
