Hahah, nice one!
The horror…insulting donkeys like that!
Semper gratus,
Donna
Here’s to the Flag of the 28th state to enter the Union superimposed on the Butcher’s face and “US Good” written by an Iraqi - I love both sentiments!
Good to see that “artwork” is alive and well in Iraq too. Looks like Saddam equals a zero. Love the humor!
Very nice!! I love the fact that it was apparently written by an Iraqi…where are the news people when they could be reporting something positive about Iraqi opinion of the U.S. Yeah…right. I especially love the Texas flag over his face, but then, I’m from Texas….. :)
First, that was probably written by an American. Second, report something positive? Iraq is a sh*thole. Everyone that has served there will surely say that Iraq is a sh*thole. It was a sh*thole before we got there, and is maybe more of sh*thole now. Will it be a sh*thole five years from now, I don’t know, but I’m guessing yes. So, as far as reporting good news, there just isn’t a lot of good news coming out of sh*tholes. When reporters show that Iraq is a sh*thole, I would trust them on that one…
Well, Ray, you may think that Iraq is a sh*thole, but that doesn’t mean that there’s nothing positive going on over there. And I learned a long time ago not to trust what reporters have to say.
Ray, while it may be a shithole now, and it was a shithole before. At least now the Iraqi people have hope, something that was never there before. And that small thing of hope, is not small to them, and it does make it a lot less of a shithole. Also if you ignore the facts that power has been restored to most of the countyr, water purification plants have been built/repaired, they now have an honest medical system in place, and finaly a chance for a real education as not good things, they you are right nothign good has happend in Iraq.
I think people are missing the point. Are there good things happening in Iraq? Yes. Is it a sh*thole and a terrible place to live? Yes. What’s more a more important story to the people that live in a Iraq: that somebody killed 50 of their neighbors at church, or that they had electricity for four hours. To want to hear good news is natural, but to ignore the real story, that Iraq is a sh*thole, that people can’t go outside without fear of getting shot in many areas of the country is like sticking your finger in your ears and going la la la la la.
Well, Ray have you been there lately? And please do used more than one misbegotten word that is if your non-profane vocabulary allows. Most areas of the country are hoth quiet and safe. You are referring to a rather small area of Iraq, sort of like saying that violence in LA ruins all of Southern CA. I read a report by a deep imbed - US Military that referred to the recent sniper attacks on the pilgrims which killed some 20 people - the part the MSM played up. However, as he pointed out - there were 999,980 who were fine!!!! As he pointed out this was the REAL story and truly good news!! Most areas of the country are completely safe and it is not a death threat to go out; In very small geographic areas, particularly Baghdad and some areas of Al Anbar are still dangerous. But almost the entire North of the country is safe, and much of the south. The areas that are bad are often very, very bad, but it just came over the news that even this is now much improved due to the Specialized Brigades and increased numbers of IA Forces sent into Baghdad recently!! Important to point out that there are areas of OUR country that I would not stray into, day or night. Your account is so off the mark as to resemble a MSM account minsus the base repetition. It is you that is in La-La Land!
I haven’t been there but have close connections with people recently returned. The question is what is “news” -what is important for people to know. Obviously the most pressing issue in Iraq is that *large* parts of the country are unsafe, there is sectarian violence and little in the way of a respectible central civil authority (if this weren’t true then American troops would be home by now - Mission Accomplished). By your standards if thirty people are killed in gang violence in south central we should ignore that, but still report on a new shopping mall in Westwood (because Westwood represents the *average* part of LA). Hey, New Orleans flooded last year, but let’s report on all the dry parts of the county. That’s asinine. We are only as strong as our weakest link. The same is true in Iraq. By reporting on the challenges that we face in Iraq, and being honest about those things, we can more accurately assess what the future mission should be. Calling Iraq a sh*thole should not be controversial, “misbegoten” or not.
Goodbye Iraq and welcome home Midnight!
that Saddam- he sure is one donkey!!
(I assume donkey is a really good insult in Iraq- coz I’m not sure anyone in the west would lose sleep over it…?)
